Final Score: Eagles 33 v CD Phoenix 40 (L)

We travelled a long way to our 6th match of the season against CD Phoenix. We knew this was going to be tough so we went in fighting hard.

The first quarter was close, we turned the ball over and got it quickly to goal. Both teams came out positive and we finished the quarter 10-8 to CD Phoenix.

We continued to play well in the second quarter with the shooters getting lots of good long shots in. We managed to draw this quarter making the score 20-18.

In the third quarter, we made up the goal difference early on and continued to keep the score even for most of the quarter. It was goal for goal. Our defenders were all over the loose ball and our attackers took it nicely to goal. We finished this quarter with a score of 29-27 to CD Phoenix.

By the last quarter, we were getting tired and our good play slipped. CD Phoenix had fresh legs and managed to get away within the last 5mins. Our passes lacked accuracy and the end result was 40-33.

Well played all and especially Abi who was voted player of the match for her excellent shooting.
