Final Score: Eagles 6 v Woodley 12 (L)

Our second game of the season we knew would provide a stiffer challenge than our first as our opponents were Woodley. We knew they were going to be a tough side to beat.

In the first quarter of a low scoring affair Eagles were winning 3-1 which were a good start and gave the girls confidence. Changes by Woodley in Q2 in both defence and attack put our girls under pressure which at times we struggled to match, ending at half time 4-6 to Woodley

The second half of the match saw us come to terms with their shooters height and compete much better. We forced Woodley to make some errors, and this led to a reduction in their scoring rate.

We struggled at times with the height of their defence and our ability to convert chances, but this is something the girls can work on in training.

One of the most promising things Neil was pleased about was the way they played, their improvement in decision making and their determination to not give up, and needless to say our defensive team were outstanding with coach’s POM going to Millie Burns.

Despite the defeat, Woodley went on to win 6-12, the girls played well, putting on a great performance with improvements from the last game.

We are looking forward to our next game on 15th October against Newbury
