Eagles U19 v Dreams

Final Score: Eagles 44 v Dreams 38 (W)

The match got off to a slow start as Eagles went 4 down in the first few minutes of the match.  The game then picked up and the score went with each centre until the last minutes of the quarter when dreams got 4 in a row from turnover ball.  This was down to some strong play and excellent shooting by Dreams.  At the end of the first quarter Eagles were 6 goals down with the score being 15-9.

Quarter 2 saw some team changes for Eagles.  Again, Dreams played well but Eagles managed to gain ground scoring from 5 turnover balls with strong defensive play being shown by Katie and Olivia and great shooting from Emilie and Charlotte.  The quarter ended much closer with Dreams still leading 23-21.

Quarter 3 was our strongest quarter with more team changes being made.  This quarter saw Eagles take the lead with strong attacking and defensive play. There were several excellent goals from great turnover balls. By the end of the quarter Eagles were ahead by 4 with the score being 33-29.

Building on the gains of the third quarter Eagles continued to play well in the 4th quarter with no further changes to the team being made.  It was a fast-paced game and at times the speed led to some questionable passing by both teams.

Eagles continued to apply pressure and our efforts lead to further turnover balls for Eagles and increasing our lead to a final score of 44-38.

Dreams picked Katie Fisher as our player of the match – congratulations.
